Fighter pracites are Resuming, Wednessday nights, at Fain Park in Prescott Valley.  6pm till 10pm.  Garb is encouraged but not required.  The first Wednessday of the month with feature the Monthly officers meetings, and the Third Wednessday of the month will be a Monthly Pot Luck dinner for the whole Shire.  Emails will go to the the SGM2 list in the week before to let you know the main dish and what kind of sides are needed

Archery practice at Chino Valley's Community Center is on the first & third Saturday and second and fourth Sunday of each month (weather permiting. watch your email for changes due to weather), from 2-dark.  I encourage any Archers, Rapier fighters or Hardsuit fighters to show up and practice.  There will be marshals for all three groups there, we will provide some shade, and water.  There will also be some loaner gear for all forms, please let us know once you get on site if you need loaner gear.  See you there

Welcome! You've arrived at the Home page for the Shire of Granite Mountain, a group in the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. We are a historical re-creation group located in the Prescott , Arizona area. we cover the communities of Chino Valley, Arizona, Prescott Valley, Arizona portions of the Verde Valley and, of course, Prescott, Arizona

The SCA covers the Pre 17th Century period of history, We particularly focus on the European cultures covering the Medieval period and the Rennaissance, but there is a growing community of those interested in other parts of the world as it was Known during this time period. The Mongol culture, Chinese, Japanese, Persian, Turkish - just about any country that was known to the European community.

Although SCA members work very hard to reproduce the clothing, furnishings, tools, art, food and lifestyle of their period of choice, all that we require is a sincere effort on the participants part. We know that not every person has the skills or resources to perfectly reproduce an earlier lifestyle. Part of the fun is learning and doing as we go along.

In these pages you will find a wonderland of medieval and rennaissance information. We will tell you about fighting in armour, dancing with zils behind a veil, the pleasures of courtly love and pickled eggs, illumination and calligraphy, Knights, Ladies, Kings and Queens, farthingales and bumrolls, Bards and Heralds and all manner of marvelous things!
