Shire Gates

A couple years ago the Shire bid farewell to it's old gates. They weren't much to look at and they were (literally) falling apart, but they symbolized a Shire that had some sense of it's place in the Kingdom, a Shire that was proud of it's Camps at events and wanted everyone else to know that this was the camp of the Shire of Granite Mountain.

The Shire is growing now and changing as new members join and old members take a break. Perhaps it is time for us to evaluate how we, as a Shire, feel about our presence in the Kingdom. Are we proud of who we are? Do we show it when we attend events? Can people tell who we are?

If anyone feels as I do that we should consider planning and building some new gates for the Shire Encampement, please let the Seneschal know. Send me your names and I will put together a list of who is interested. If there is enough interest we will ask the Seneschal for permission to set up a committee to begin looking into how to go about the project. Lord REHD has some excellent ideas and knowledge of some of the building concepts as does my lord.
