Greetings to the grand populace of the shire! Back in september and october during our officers meeting we dicussed the possibility of elevating our branch status to that of a Barony. Everyone in attendance at those meetings agreed this was the direction we wanted to head in. Some of us, although quite eager asked for time to research and prepare. Six months have passed and at the last meeting decided to start the process of becoming a Barony. There are many steps that are required to be completed before a branch elevation. Lady Annalena, durring the last part of 2007 created a packet describing what a barony is, its requirements and what is means to the greater good.  A link to this packet is at the bottom of this article. 

   How do we start? The first step is a letter from the perspective branch, signed by a majority of its members to the Crown and the kingdom seneschal. In this letter it declares that we have met the requirements and our willingness and passion to DO the work to elevate our branch. If accepted, we are given certain tasks and additional requirements. Some of the requirements could be creating or the purchase of baronial regalia, submission and creation of baronial orders and charters or various budgets. Once our goals have been completed, and with approval will be allowed to poll our group formally for US to decide if at the that we want to become a barony. If approved, the next step would be the process for selecting the Territorial Baron and Baroness. If the poll is not in favor, then we will evaluate our work and direction.
