Gift Exchange:

Northern Yule Gift Exchange

Greetings Everyone, it is time to start thinking about Yule and what you may want to bring for the gift exchange. How do I participate in the Gift Exchange you ask? Well... look below to find out more!

This is how it works!

We would like to encourage everyone to participate in this year's gift exchange if you can. In order to play please bring (1) wrapped gift per individual.

  Children’s Gift Exchange:

There will be a children’s gift exchange for young children up to age 10 providing there are enough participants (2 or more). This gift exchange will be straightforward without trading. Each gift will be marked as a child gift and placed in a separate pile. Each child will be asked to come forward one at a time and take a gift that they did not bring to open. That will be their gift to take home.

Adult Gift Exchange: (as well as children wishing to participate in this Gift Exchange that allows trading)

All gifts for this exchange will be set in a pile and each person participating will have their names drawn randomly to choose a gift from the pile. That individual will then open the gift and show everyone else what he or she has opened. At that time that person has the choice of keeping that gift or…. Choosing to trade his or her gift for a gift that was opened by someone else. After this the next persons name will be called to open a gift and do the same. *Important after an individual item has changed hands 3 times it no longer can be traded. The third trade is the final trade and is kept by the recipient. The more desirable an item is the more it could possibly be traded so try to be clever in picking out your gift; it makes the game more interesting!

*As a suggestion, please spend no more than $15 on a single gift. The gifts need not be new, a gently used item you no longer want can be wrapped up as well (for example, a book, set of goblets, or decorative belt) use your imagination…. Think to yourself, what would others want to battle over? From year to year it has been interesting to see what items get traded again and again, will it be yours?

Site fees:

Site opens at 10am, closes at 9pm. No pets, no indoor smoking, this is a DRY site, no camping. The site fee includes feast and is payable at Troll.
